Many regions around the world are experiencing severe hardship, conflict, persecution, and spiritual need. Here are some of the areas most urgently in need of prayer, based on recent reports and global Christian organizations:
Holy Land (Gaza): Ongoing violence and humanitarian crises have made this region a focal point for prayers for peace and protection.
Ukraine: The war has resulted in immense suffering, displacement, and loss of life, requiring continued prayer for peace and healing.
Myanmar: Civil conflict and military oppression have led to widespread suffering and displacement, particularly for ethnic and religious minorities.
Sudan: Ongoing violence and instability have caused severe humanitarian crises.
Burkina Faso & Democratic Republic of the Congo: Both countries face violence from armed groups, leading to displacement and insecurity.
North Korea: Regarded as the most dangerous country for Christians, believers face imprisonment, torture, and execution for their faith.
Afghanistan: Christians, especially converts from Islam, face extreme pressure, violence, and isolation.
Somalia: Christians must practice their faith in secret due to the threat of violence and death.
Libya: Christians, particularly converts and migrant workers, endure severe persecution and instability.
Pakistan: Christians face blasphemy laws, social discrimination, and violence, with women and girls particularly vulnerable to abduction and forced conversion.
Yemen & Eritrea: Both countries are among the top five where it is most dangerous to be a Christian, with believers facing imprisonment, torture, and even death.
South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives): Home to the world’s largest populations of unreached people groups, with significant challenges due to religious, social, and political barriers to the gospel.
Southeast Asia (Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand): Many ethnic groups remain unreached, and Christians often face social and governmental restrictions.
West Asia and the Middle East (Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, etc.): Persecution is widespread, especially for those converting from Islam, with many countries on the World Watch List for Christian persecution.
Nigeria: While not always in the top five, Nigeria sees extremely high levels of violence against Christians, with thousands killed and churches attacked each year.
China: Increasing restrictions on religious freedom, surveillance, and church closures have made it increasingly difficult for Christians to practice their faith openly.
